On December 20, 2018, Team DBP had the opportunity to spend quality time with therapists, newly injured individuals and their families at Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center. It’s been our third year where members and volunteers collected toys and new warm clothing to distribute during the holidays to inpatients and their family members. Rancho Los Amigos is dear to Dream Big’s heart because of how much of an impact the people have had on our founder, Miguel Rivera.
Essentially, without Rancho there would be no Dream Big Project. Today, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center is one of the largest comprehensive medical rehabilitation centers in the U.S. providing services to a wide range of individuals with catastrophic illnesses and injuries.
Rancho specializes in helping patients with disabilities regain skills and learn techniques to accomplish the basic activities of daily living, and returning to work or school if possible. Because of their state of the art care, Miguel has gone on to graduate from a four year university, start DBP, work as substitute teacher, continue to pursue his graduate education, and encourage others to pursue their wildest hopes and dreams.
