July is an exciting month of the year because we get to interact with members of our community while simultaneously raising money for our youth. Our fireworks stand operation is our largest fundraiser of the year that allows Team DBP to host backpack giveaways at local elementary schools and to provide college tuition-assistance scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
In addition to engaging with our community supporters, we take this as an opportunity to build our team. We go behind the scenes with our team members and volunteers and take the time to go step by step on how to host a successful fireworks fundraiser. Some of the things we introduce to new members and volunteers during this process is: how to take inventory, the benefits of developing communication skills, how to sell a product, and marketing. We are beyond grateful for the support we receive from our volunteers and members, so we take advantage to help our team develop their skills, even if it’s on the clock.
This season we teamed up with TNT Fireworks. This fundraiser was a 4-day period, July 1-4, where we sold fireworks from 10am to 10pm. Our vision is to one day open a DBP Wellness Center in our hometown in Norwalk, California that focuses on education, youth development, and mental health services for individuals of all ages and stages of life.
